January 2003

Works continue in the plants at Carni Sarde in Isili (NU), Italy.

Now that the installations of the anaerobic digestion, ionic transfer and microfiltration unit for biological reduction of nutrients are finished, the construction of the composting plant for the utilization of process biomass has begun.

® Solid-liquid separation unit with 3 transfer reactors with a capacity of 360 m3/day. The foundations of the future composting plant can be seen in the front.

Start-up of the plant at en Goshen Ridge Farms in Duplin County (NC), USA, continues.

The global start-up of the treatment system continues at good pace, and in spite of the low temperatures in December and January, the PINTB system has adapted well, the ionic transfer system with polymer technology achieves separation efficiencies of 95%, and the dephosphatation and packaging of calcium phosphate has been started up successfully.
