Main lines of R&D&I (1)
Swine manure treatment. Liquid phase.

• Specific biological treatments for the liquid swine manure fraction:
- Fixed Biomass (Trickling Filters).
- Activated sludge.
- Nitrifying bacteria immobilized in gel pearls.
- Submerged biomass beds.
- Sequential aerobic and anoxic batch reactors (SBR/ASBR).

• Production of sulfate ammonium and other compounds
from manure.

• Electrochemical oxidation treatments.

• Ecotoxicity and environmental risk assessment.

• Biogas production by methanogenic fermentation at low temperature (mesophylic). Heat and electric energy production.
