| The Volatile Suspended
Solids (VSS) are directly related to the Total Suspended Solids
(TSS);

| The various carbonaceous
forms (TOC, COD, BOD5) are directly related to the
rest of the organic nutrients in the slurry; |
| Normally, the elimination
of the organic forms of the nutrients is linear; |
| There are insoluble and
recalcitrant compounds with low biodegradability in the liquid
fraction (BOD5, N-NH3, P.PO4); |
| The elimination of N, P and COD is proportional
to the TSS elimination efficiency; |
| The decrease of COD proportionally reduces
bad smells and the COD is directly related to the VSS and TSS. |
